Types and content of potash fertilizer

Potash fertilizer, the full name of potassium fertilizer, is fertilizer with potassium as the main nutrient. Potash fertilizers include potassium chloride, potassium sulfate, potassium magnesium sulfate, carnallite and fertilizers mixed with the above products.

Potassium chloride

The chemical formula KCl is a colorless elongated rhombus or a cubic crystal, or white crystalline small particle powder. Potassium chloride used as a fertilizer is not pure. There may be impurities such as ferric chloride, which generally appear red. Potassium chloride is suitable for all kinds of soil except saline-alkaline soil and can be used as base fertilizer.

Potassium sulfate

The chemical formula K₂SO₄ contains 50% to 52% potassium and about 18% sulfur. Pure potassium sulfate is a colorless crystal, and the appearance of agricultural potassium sulfate is mostly light yellow. Potassium sulfate has low hygroscopicity, is not easy to agglomerate, has good physical properties, and is easy to apply. It is a very good water-soluble potassium fertilizer, and is especially suitable for economic crops that avoid potassium chloride.

Potassium nitrate

The chemical formula KNO3 contains 46% potassium. It is a chemically neutral and physiologically neutral fertilizer, with good water solubility, easy to move in the soil, fast plant absorption, long-term application, will not cause soil acidification. It is suitable for top dressing of crops, especially for top and middle dressing.

Potassium dihydrogen phosphate

The chemical formula KH2PO4, containing 52% phosphorus and 34% potassium, is a chemically neutral and physiologically neutral fertilizer with good water solubility. With a high total content of phosphorus and potassium, it is an indispensable raw material for high-content powder water-soluble fertilizers. At the same time, phosphorus and potassium are added, and the amount is small, and the effect is obvious.

Carnallite

The chemical formula KCl · MgCl2 · 6H2O is the final product of evaporation in a lake containing magnesium and potassium salts, and often coexists with rock salt and potash salt. The pure one is colorless to white, transparent to opaque. It is easily deliquescent in the air and soluble in water. Mainly used as raw materials for processing fertilizers such as potassium chloride.
