On April 2, the launch meeting of the project "Technical Model and Application of Productivity Improvement of Sloping Cultivated Land in the Middle and Lower Reaches of the Yangtze River with Red-yellow Soil and Low-yield Rice Fields" was held at Huazhong Agricultural University. Wan Jianhua, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Company, was invited to attend the launch meeting of the project. This project belongs to the "14th Five-Year" national key research and development plan "Technical Innovation for Capacity Enhancement of Low- and Medium-Yellow-Yield Fields in North Arid and Semi-arid and Red-yellow Soils in South". Creation and application of production capacity enhancement products in low-yield paddy fields. The convening of the kick-off meeting of the national key R&D plan project marks that Huaqiang Chemical's scientific research and innovation ability has been recognized at the national level, and it is an important milestone in the company's development process.

The project is led by Huazhong Agricultural University, with the participation of 9 units from inside and outside the province including Huaqiang Chemical Industry. 11 experts and scholars from inside and outside the province, including Academician Zhang Qifa, Academician Fu Tingdong, Academician Zhu Yongguan, Academician Zhang Fusuo, Academician Shen Qirong, and Academician Zhou Wei, serve as project consultants.

The project will focus on solving the prominent problems of sloping farmland in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, such as sour and thin red-yellow soil, shallow tillage layer, frequent seasonal droughts, cold soaking of paddy soil with water, poisoning of reducing substances, inefficient and easy loss of nutrients, and low yield of paddy fields. It aims to increase soil fertility by 1 to 2 grades and increase output by more than 20% through key technology and product research and development, and truly promote the increase of farmers' income. The total project cost is 89.2 million yuan, of which 65 million yuan is from the central financial special fund and 16 million yuan is from the local financial fund.

The key project topics undertaken by Huaqiang Chemical will focus on the lack of physical and chemical products, single function, low degree of mechanization, and lack of supporting equipment in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
